I wanted to pay someone who is a saved payee £2000 so I went and used my laptop instead of the mobile app (limit £250 a day). As I proceeded the payment date was set at TUE 20th DEC and today is the SUN 18th. I wasn't able to change it to today's date why is this????? Time was 12pm.

You can make a payment of more than £250 via the mobile app to someone you've paid before. The £250 limit is for new payees you set up using the app.
As far a Natwest is concerned weekends don't exist. The day after Friday, 16h December is Monday, 19th December. That's why you can't make a payment dated Sunday, 18th December. Not sure why they changed your payment date to 20th instead of 19th.0 -
Have you tried to delete the payment and then set it back up?0

I guess you make sense about that. Say if I wanted to send another payment tomorrow Monday 19th would that would be straight away right??0 -
In my experience (with the Royal Bank) they still go through as faster payments. But that would mean if I did want to make it a future date it wouldn't work.. hmm. Sorry, I can't remember the exact scenario.0
