In a mess with old debts.

I have two old debts to LLoyds, one is a credit card from around 12 years ago and a loan from LLoyds from around 7 years ago.
The debts were passed to numerous collecting agencies which I foolishly ignored, recently it went to court and a court has ordered me to pay one of the debts off at 50 pounds per month.
However, it would seem that the same debt is also being pursued by another agency.
Is there anything I can do about this?

Hi,
Are you positive there chasing the same debt ?
If so, write and inform the chasing DCA that the account they are attempting to collect has been subject to court action, and to back off.
Give them the name of the court, judgement date, case number etc.
That should be enough to get them to return the account to there client.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi, I'm pretty sure its the same debt, however it was a long time ago, in 2008 I had a long outstanding credit card with Lloyds. I decided to try and clear it so I went to the local branch and met with the manager.
She was quite blunt and told me I couldn't get a repayment plan, I told her in that case she would get nothing.
We then came up with a way to pay the outstanding card, Lloyds would lend me the money as a loan to pay the credit card off (and all its charges) and I would then just pay off the loan.
On my clearscore timeline it says that in May 2008 the account with Lloyds was opened, this went on to Dec 2011 then it says accounts closed with £3739 written just before in oct 2011. It says four accounts had been closed, 2 with Lloyds , one with Lowells and one with 1st credit finance ltd. All on the same purple (long term) line on the time line.
A second time line appears in March 2010 (orange short term) below the time line described above, it says an account was opened with Lloyds TSB in march for £33, then in July 2010 its £778 late payment, then in Oct 2011 the same four accounts were closed.
There is then nothing more from Lloyds on my time line.
I really don't understand any of this, Lowells is pursuing me for two debts to LLoyds as is 1st credit, 1st credits account numbers match my old Lloyds accounts but Lowells don't. None of the figures add up, this is very confusing, I really cant make head nor tail of it all.
Would it be prudent to get in touch with Lloyds? Also, Lowells wanted their first payment of the CCJ today, but they were closed, should I pay them tomorrow even though I don't know what is going on with all this?0 -
I would pay the debt with the CCJ, as not paying it could lead to much more serious repercussions.
If you believe that both Lowell and 1st credit are pursuing the same accounts you need to do as I suggested in my previous post, write to both Lowell and 1st Credit, inform them they are both chasing the same accounts, and to please clarify the situation.
CC a copy to Lloyds as well, address each letter to "The Compliance Officer".
See what they come back to you with, and if your not satisfied by there respective explanations, take the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service, who will then get to the bottom of what's been going on, as I can appreciate it must be a tad confusing for you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
