Really silly question

Options
I was made redundant and my wages are being paid up until the 31/12/16. I will be meeting my employer to get my refference, redundancy letter, redundancy money and p45.

Here is the silly bit, 2 weeks BEFORE my employer rang me up to tell me i was being made redundant, my other boss rang me up to do some phone work for him from home and told me "Dont worry, we wont be making you redundant at this time and to chill out".

Have i got any rights here or can they just say/do as they please, even if that means torture to ones mind and family from saying 2 different things?

Thanks

One manager contradicting what another manager has said is not exactly unheard of in the world of employment. What "rights" do you think you have?
