Hi,
Sorry for starting a new thread, I've read the newbie thread and I'm still unsure of the right course of action.
We got a PCN from UPKC saying 'Parked in a permit area without displaying a valid permit'.
We had parked in a light industrial area (Clifton Rd, Cambridge) at about 8:30pm to go to a local venue. There were dozens of other cars parked everywhere. Got a notice timestamped 8:42. There were UKPC signs but we didn't see them in the dark.
Signs say:
No Unauthorised Parking
Terms of Parking Apply At All Time
This land is private property and parking control is managed by UK Parking Control Ltd
Failure to comply with the following at any time will result in a £100 Parking Charge (reduce to £60 if paid in 14 days) being issued to the vehicle's drive.
A valid parking permit must be clearly displayed at all times.
In the event that a parking charge remains unpaid UK Parking Control may contact the DVLA and request the Registered Keeper's details.
Unpaid Parking Charges will be passed to our debt recovery agent at which point an additional charge of £60 will apply.
What is the recommended course of action?
Thanks in advance.

Not as far as I'm aware. I assume that if you work in one of the units you get a permit to park there while you're at work. They're not the sort of units that expect the general public to visit as customers.0

Just wait till day 26 and send the usual appeal for BPA members from the NEWBIES thread. Hope they forget to send a NTK and Bob's your Uncle at POPLA stage! What is the recommended course of action?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks. What if they do remember to send the NTK?0

No big deal, you just try other issues at POPLA stage, as covered in templates in post #3 of the NEWBIES thread. You'd be best reading other UKPC POPLA cases on here by searching the board for those two words. You will see what happens.
Also please be ready for the tedious letter asking you for 'more information/who was driving' which everyone is told to ignore. No action needed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So we've had our appeal rejected but not received a NTK. For POPLA should we use the basic appeal from the sticky thread:

Without a NTK, UKPC are stuffed once 56 days have passed, when a keeper won't say who was driving!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sorry, more questions.
My main appeal point is failure to send NTK. I will use the appeal suggested above.
Given this, is it useful to add the extra section on limited signage, given I would need to check that everything asserted, e.g. font sizes, was true in our case?
Also should I submit other evidence? Do I need to submit photos of signs?
Thanks.0 -

Send the long "inadequate signage" template exactly as you find it in post 3 of the NEWBIES. It's up to the scammers to disprove what you say. Including your own pics of the signs taken from the most favourable positions to show how inadequate the signs are will help.
Include all appeal points that are relevant. The more the merrier.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

No-one has to check anything (I didn't write a template POPLA appeal just to make more work for people!). It is for the PPC to prove.
And with UKPC you can see all their photos including the signs on their website anyway - and you can often use them to prove to POPLA how unreadable the signs are - as long as any ad hoc lines you add to the templates do NOT say who was driving!PRIVATE 'PCN'?
