You implied that you could move to a cheaper rental home. You said the reason why you couldn't do that was because you needed a room for your working space. You didn't say that you didn't want to move because you wanted to stay in an expensive area that you couldn't afford.

Moving to a cheaper area of the country would solve your money problems. Moving is expensive if you can afford to move to a smaller property in the area you live in now you can afford to move further away.

It appears that you don't want to move further away you want to continue to rent a property in an area that you can't afford to live in.

    I don't think I implied anything.

There are very few cheaper properties. And yes, even if we managed to fine a cheaper rental property , we would need money for deposits fees and removal costs. Obviously if we moved to the north of the country renting is cheaper, but removal costs would obviously be even higher the further we move. It just isn't an option.

The so apart from moving costs being prohibitive, I would not only need to start business from scratch but also unlikely I would be able to work from home so renting a premises would be far higher than the difference in rent that we have to find.

You're both doing very low paid self employed work yet you claim neither of you can do an employed job. Is it can't, or won't?

It makes no sense at all.

It's a funny old situation. I qualify for ESA but choose to work part-time doing the only thing I can think of that is feasible whereby I can contribute to my living costs and work towards supporting myself totally. I have had the support and encouragement of the job centre advisor and taken a cut in income in order to do this meaning we are struggling to make ends meet currently. My business plan will see both of us not having to rely on any benefits/tax credits within 12 months all being well yet I am berated for enquiring about ideas I have considered that could help us to make ends meet over the next six months or so.

    I don't get people's attitudes.

For Housing Benefit purposes we won't accept 'rent' for the residential property that the claimant resides in as a business expense thus reducing their self employed profit and increase their Housing Benefit when the claimant is also trying to claim taxpayers money to pay their rent.

That is dependent on the area you live in though. I know the area I am in does accept it. It is on the form and we called and had this clarified for someone as they weren't sure either.
