I have washing on the line outside and will pop out later for chicken, potatoes and veg and maybe nice biscuits as in laws are coming round tomorrow.

I have home made pea and ham soup for lunch and will do gammon and chips for tonight for me and middle dd.

Tomorrow will be chicken, veg and roasties for lunch, I will make a beef stew this afternoon to portion up and freeeze.

Meat arrives on 22nd with veg and trimmings, Christmas crackers and wine are ordered and I just need to get sweets for the stockings.

Tomorrow will be massive tidying, sweeping and mopping before visitors arrive and I am having a quiet day today and tissue wrapping stocking gifts.

    Hugs to all

Done clearing out the small barn at last.

Two trips to the tip today with a little more to go. Now just the door to move out and the various bits of machinery to move to the other side of the wall. Where I wanted the freezer to go is not wide enough but the opposite side is, just a slight pain. All that'll need doing then is to sweep the floor finally.

I've ordered a vacuum food sealer so I can make more use of my Cost*co card for meat and veg. Also bought a book for my DM and ordered a GH magazine subscription for her.

Now I'm cosy, woodburner glowing, wine poured and feet up on sofa ready for SCD final.
  • Good evening chums, well been an eventful couple of days, saw my DGS Ben last night for a short while as it was my first time out since Monday.

Still coughing and spluttering a bit but slowly getting better, in that my nose and eyes are no longer competeing in a marathon to see which runs the fastest

They have had the results of Bowie's biopsy and sadly its not good news he has lymphoma and has not got long at all. DD and my son-in-law have made the decision that he will go to the vets on Monday to be PTS. He is going downhill faster than we expected and its really only his medication thats keeping him alive DD spoke to the vet and he said it would be the kindest thing she can do for him.Understandably they are all pretty upset as he is such a lovely animal.
Not going to be the best day for them on Monday as its DDs birthday as well.
The boys are all pretty devastasted and my son-in-law is really cut up as he adored the dog and its all pretty emotional at their house atm.

But DD agrees with the vet and wants the dog to have a dignified end and not to be in any pain.

Eldest DD came this afternoon to pick up some bits for Christmas to save me some time.I haven't been near a food shop for a week and have enough stuff in the fridge so I can stay in the warm.I found last night just going out for an hour was more than enough for me and the damp air sets my cough off so I am keeping in the warm as much as I can.

Next Saturday is the wedding so I must be better for that.

Right time for another bovril :)

    Have a good evening chums

Am so sorry to read the chronic prognosis on Bowie dog Jackie, it's the most difficult decision to make but the ultimate act of love for a beloved animal, thoughts are with you all x
  • JackieO - sorry to hear about your dd dog Bowie, so sad for all the family, he has obviously entered all their hearts. (((Hugs))) to you all.

TA - hope your dh starts to feel less uncomfortable soon.

Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.
  • JackieO I'm really sorry to see the news about Bowie
