Gb energy help

Hi all,

I was in the middle of moving from GB energy to Iresa when I got an email from the energy club telling me they'd gone bust and I'd be moved to the Co op and that they'd have my money/credit. In the end I was successfully moved to Iresa but they don't have my money and told me the Co op or gb have it.

So confused in how I get my money back. Any thoughts? Could call Co op but not a customer....

Thanks. Nick

The losing supplier has up to 6 weeks to produce a final bill from the date of the actual transfer of supply. I transferred from GB to Iresa on the 5th December. If I get a final bill before Christmas it will be a bonus. Ofgem has guaranteed that the Coop will honour all credits. You need to be patient.

My experience was... Phone the old GB Energy phone number:

    "Call us on 0800 6444 451 (8am - 8pm, Monday - Friday, closed public holidays)"

It will be answered by Coop Energy and they can pull up all your account details, and let you know how the process is progressing.

Has any GB energy customers who switched before they went bust had credit refunded yet?

Yes - but money not yet in Bank. I called GB this morning and spoke to a very nice lady who had a brilliant Christmas with her 3 year old daughter, and who is looking forward to child number 2 in 8 weeks time who raised my Final Bill as we waited for her computer to do its thing. The Bill has now arrived and I was promised that my repayment would be made in the next few days. I have no reason to doubt that this will happen.

Hi all just to update, I couldn't get through on the phone to GB energy/ Co-op, ( line busy) so I emailed the contact address on GB energy site and lo and behold three days later I got a email reply saying my final bill was made up and refund should be in the bank within 10 working days. A happy bunny😁
Try the email approach if you are kept on the phone in a queue.
