I am looking at booking a one week break to Lanzarote in June and by far Monarch is coming out as the cheapest for flights and the accommodation that I am interested in. What I would like to know first before I book is that it is safe to book with Monarch as I know they were in difficulty earlier this year with rumours that they were about to collapse. Any reasurance would be appreciated !

Perfectly safe. If you're booking a package your holiday will be Atol protected anyway. Plus if you pay by credit card you'll get Section 75 cover as well. I've got 3 flights booked with them for Lanza next year. No qualms at all. I've also flown twice with them this year since their financial problems were resolved.0 -
100% safe to book with Monarch. I'd have no hesitation if I was in your shoes.

Pay by credit card. Have travel insurance. Utilise ATOL if needed.
