TSB and Powers of Attorney?

My father has just moved into a care home. I have his Power of Attorney. So far I have been dealing with all his banking online. I`m just wondering if it would be sensible to formally tell TSB that I have his Power of Attorney.
I have heard that some banks can be a bit difficult about these - I don`t want to do anything that could possibly make it more difficult for me to move his money around and pay bills etc

A quick search failed to find anything specific to TSB, but Lloyds have the following guidance which TSB may still be following.

Yes, and you should have done this when you first started handling his account on line. For a start you need to inform them of his change of address.
My mother is in care and apart from her on line stuff, I do have to write the odd cheque out for things like the chiropodist. I also need to get small amounts of cash out from time to time.
My mother banks with Barclays, and it was not difficult to arrange, just had to take in the LPA documentation and some ID. Initially they issued me with my own card, and she kept her own, but now she is in care and unable to handle the simplest transaction, I am the only card holder, and am the only person who can write cheques. All her correspondence comes to me as well.
Make an appointpointment with them ASAP.0 -
Rather than 'sensible', i would say essential.
Lloyds were pretty good when I needed them for that purpose, and that's when TSB were joined to them. Most banks are OK now, but you may have to persevere; counter staff tend not to know much.0 -
Thanks very much - I will get onto that quickly - though it may have to wait until after Christmas - I really don`t want to go into town next week!!0
