PIP decision process time?

Just wondering how long it took for people to receive a letter as to the decision made after sending back PIP application forms, whether that be with the award result or for a call to interview? Just hate having this fear of that brown envelope (or text message!) loom over me and I know everyone will have different experiences but be good to get some kind of an idea as to how long it might take. Thank you!

I think it varies from area to area but mine took 2 weeks for an appointment and the decision came 10 days after the appointment.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

First time application took 11 months. Review took 7 weeks for assessment after form was sent back. Decision was made 4 days after assessment. Letter came a few days later.0

I sent the forms off 3 weeks ago, had a text thanking me a couple of days later, saying that I would hear "in due course" if I had to go to a f2f....not expecting anything anytime soon, especially with postal strike looming....Jack.Retired (Early) April 20150

It's actually only Post Offices going on strike and even then it's only some main post offices. Royal Mail deliveries will not be affected, two separate companies. My OH is a postal sorter for RM so I speak with some confidence.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
Mine took 7 weeks from appointment to decision I think, 8 weeks until I received the letter with decision in - it was the one thing that they didn't text about.
filled the forms in early May, appointment late may. Had a text the day of assessment saying that had all the info they needed, another saying same a couple of weeks later followed by a letter apologising for delay.
this was for DLA to PIP0 -
Just a thought, mine is a new claim, is it possible that they will deal with DLA to PIP cases first ?Retired (Early) April 20150

My Husband made a claim for PIP on 9th Nov 2016, then got an appointment for an assessment for the 16th Dec, they rang on the 15th Dec to cancel due to staff illness and rearranged for the 29th Dec. He's been told it could take between 4-8 weeks after the assessment to hear from the but if he gets an award it will be back dated to the 9th Nov when he applied.0

I sent my PIP form back on 12 October, had my assessment on 9 November and recieved my award letter on 30 November.
Took 7 weeks all told.
Oh, and to add I was on DLA.
I never recieved a text saying they had made a decision, just a text to say they had recieved my PIP form, that's all.0 -
I think it depends on a lot of things, like time of year, evidence included, how fully the forms have been filled in etc.
My sons only took 20 days from the day i sent his form off, to getting his 1st payment. But his was paper based, so didn't have to have a face to face assessment. I imagine it would take longer if you were called to an assessment.0
