Insurance for old car while I sell it (Aviva Multicar?)

Hi,

I've just bought a new car, ended up having to switch insurance companies as they wouldn't cover the new car.

I'm now with Aviva, and until I sell my old car I need either short term or Aviva Multicar. Short term is about £100 every two weeks. I think I'll be lucky to sell a car before Christmas now so I've got to be thinking 30 days cover at least.

Aviva Multicar says an additional premium of £544 is due to cover the old car as well for another 12 months.

Anyone with Aviva been in the same situation and been able to cancel after say a month. How much cancellation fee should I expect? Would I get straight refund of the remaining months?

Straight refund may not be instant if your going to need that to pay for another policy. I think they have upto 28 days to issue the refund, although it maybe faster.
Expect it to take that long and you wont be worrying about it.

Insure the other car elsewhere, but with zero no claims to use in it and requiring temporary cover then its going to be costly. Sell the car now by reducing the price or to a trader?
