Conservatory issues

Hi there
We signed a contract last October 2015 to have a conservatory built by Everest.
We are still not a completion. We are almost there after
Delays, extremely bad workmanship, missed appointments, disruption to our lives and events within our lives.
It has been constant and unrelenting. They have shouted at me when I pointed out errors they have recently sent bullying emails with ultimatums, asking us to settle the bill. No they have offered us a 10% reduction in our final bill. But they damaged our blinds when they drilled down a horribly uneven floor threat they had us cover twice and lift before they admitted it needed to be redone properly.
I want them to fix the blinds before they offer a settlement figure, as I feel the damage to our property has nothing to do with our conservatory bill.
The last email he sent said that we had to agree to the 10% reduction or he would instruct legal proceedings to make us pay the full amount payable initially.
Please help us!
The blinds cost £550 and I feel that being that the conservatory is 9 months over the date they agreed to have it done by and the constant and prolonged distress and affect on our financial situation is something that should surely be worth more?
Has anyone been in this situation before? I have all the emails from and to Everest and a plethora of photos that show the issues and shortcomings of the company.
What should I do??
Cheers for any help!!

Whilst you may say it is unhelpful, you should never have placed your work with Everest. They are a dreadful company and you only have to read the Which? magazine of a few months ago to realise this. However my stating this will help you judge the type of company you have a dispute with. In essence, Everest are everyones worst nightmare.
For help from the Forum I suggest you post the size of the conservatory, the shape and roof, and then what work was involved. Then add what you agreed to pay, and how much you have so far paid. All this may enable folks to give a rough view on what is a reasonable stance to take.
Hope this helps.0 -
Play them at their own game.
I would send them a letter before action, in it thank them for the 10% reduction in the bill for their poor service and delayed installation but inform them that unless they additionally repair or replace your blinds you will proceed with legal action to cover this damage they caused. Make it clear that the final bill for the conservatory will not be paid until they repair/replace the blinds to your satisfaction. Send this letter recorded delivery. Give them 14 days to provide a satisfactory response or move to the small claims court as your next step.
