Lloyds Credit Card Default

Hello there.
I contacted Lloyds roughly 3 months ago and told them I was having trouble making the minimum payments towards my credit card. The advisor told me that they could put my account into default if I wanted them to, to allow me time to get things sorted and all interest and charges etc would be frozen.
About a month after this call I recieved a letter asking for some kind of payment. The advisor told me that I should just ignore all letters from them as this is standard procedure for an account that has been defaulted.
So I didn't do anything about it. When I look on my online banking the payment required has gone from £130 (ish) to £149 (ish) now, and I have recieved a default letter (with the DEFAULT NOTICE served under the consumer credit act......etc) asking me to pay the £149 (ish) by the 30th Dec 2016 or they may take action....court, debt collection agency etc.
So do I carry on as normal or will they take action? Was the advisor correct in telling me to ignore the letters etc and just pay what I can when I can?
I'd be lucky if I can pay £10 by the 30th dec if I'm honest.
Please, any info on this is welcomed. Thank you.

Of course they will take action but you need not worry too much.
Pay £1 token for now - after 3 months the account will be sent to the collections team.
They can set up a repayment plan that you can afford.
It will be reported on your credit files but that should not worry you for now.0 -
Thanks for your reply. Whilst waiting for someone to reply to my post, I called Lloyds Collections dept up and she assured me that I do not need to respond to the letters (she gave me her word!) and that I should just make a payment of what I can afford and when I can afford it.
She explained that the account is in the process of being transfered from coolections dept to the recoveries dept. It's a £1600 limit on the card (over the limit of course but it's in default). I asked if they would take me to court and she said absolutly not! "You have my word that this would not happen"!0 -
Can someone help me please.
For many years my wife has been paying a Lloyds Credit card debt using a paying in book. The book has run out, and when we phoned Lloyds to change our address and ask for a new book they told us the debt had now been sold to someone called Link. They told her she now had to contact Link as the account with them was closed. They wouldnt take her new address, or send a book. They said they had been sending the money on each month. Does anyone know the bank details, account number and sort code, of collections, so we can continue making payments? We have never heard anything from Lloyds or Link regarding this debt, but that is probably because we have moved. Anyone able to help/offer advise.0 -

Don't even think about paying into an account from details provided by someone on the internet.
