Beware Motor Quote Direct, Bedford Insurance. Small Print.

I just had a quote through from Motor Quote Direct, also TA Bedford Insurance. Small print states charge for " alterations, corrections and/or additions" to policy £150, "cancellations" £90. Be careful.

That "small print" is actually your policy.

If you don't like it you can cancel within 14 days. If you didn't read it during that period, then shucks.

The OP said quote, so I assume he spotted it before accepting. Good of him to alert everyone else to it. I'd call it a scam, but doing so would only result in a torrent of angry responses, so I won't call it a scam.

It's not that small. Their charges are detailed in quite normal sized print on their 'Terms and conditions of business for Consumers, which can be perused even before you bother with a quote.

A discount may have been applied at the inception of your policy and will be reclaimed in full in the event of cancellation. This will be over and above any other charges that may apply. All optional extras are purchased on a non-refundable basis.

It pays to check this kind of thing.
