Another way of putting it is that the Mac system just "works" for these sort of applications with the minimum hassle. Yes, as I said, it can all be done under Windows but it needs significantly more effort to arrive at a professional grade system.
It just works under Windows too. I know this because that is what I use. To calibrate monitors and use colour managed software takes the same amount of effort on both systems - attach calibration puck to computer and run through the calibration process. Start colour managed software and make sure the settings are correct for your use.

For what it's worth I have one of the smaller A5 size Wacom tablets and it's very good.

My first graphics tablet was also A5 size and when I upgraded it I went for the larger A4 size and while excellent I found that I seemed to be making exaggerated pen movements to use the whole drawing area.

When I saw a smaller tablet on offer I bought it and much prefer it to the bigger one.

Obviously this is a personal preference but if you can take her to try a couple, you might both be surprised.
One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.

Thanks all - apparently retail stockists of tablets in deepest Yorkshire are limited - and those prepared to show one connected to a PC even more limited.

In this basis Amazon/Huion get my business - if it's right then it may pay back my investment in years to come - if not then I may have exclusivity of listings on Ebay ;)
