    Hi,

We stayed in Rome for a week in January. We didn't actually stay in a hotel but a place called Fraterna Domus. It's run by nuns & lots of people use it. It's basic, clean & safe accommodation. Breakfast is included. We ate our main meal at night there as well because the food was delicous & great value. The only down side if you want night life is that they lock the doors at 11pm. You can't get back in after that. Didn't worry us as being winter & we had pretty big days we were ready for bed at that time. For the week, breakfast & tea it cost us 510 Euro's. We had to put deposit of E100 when making the booking. They have a email address DOMUSM@TIN.IT Have a great holiday & try the gelato, it's so yummy.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Hi,

went to Rome a couple of years ago and stayed in the Nazionale. Fantastic location couple of minutes from the Trevi fountain and about 20 minutes walk to the Vatican.

I would recommend the Nazionale too, we stayed there last summer - fantastic location - lots of places to eat nearby - super views out to parliament - reasonable cost and did a 5 nights for price of 4 offer.
