Which upvc manufacturer is best?

Hi all,

We are looking to replace all our windows and exterior doors with upvc and have had several quotes but i'm not sure how I can compare them when they use different manufacturers. So far I've had quotes using kommerling and cwg choices. Are either of these any good or should I being looking out for any others either good or to avoid? Thank you.

We have had Kommerling windows, seem fine to me.

Thank you Chanes. Just had another quote who use rehau, anyone know if they are to be recommended? Thanks

We would only use 4 profile comapanies Profile 22 , Veka ,Rehau and Kommerling these are equally as good as each other we use Profile 22 at the moment

I haven't looked but do they brand the frames somewhere? I only know we have had Kommerling fitted because that what it says we have paid for and what we agreed to be fitted. I have no idea if they have a logo on them?

So...stupid question time!

usually the brand name is printed inside the rebate and date produced .If you open the opener it will be where the hinges or lock keeps fasten too

Also look at the profiles made by the manufacturers - saying Rehau is good is over simplifying matters. A neighbour had Rehau profiles and they were dire rubbish.

A colleague had 65mm profile that was dire and another had 70mm that was far better - that was a Duraflex profile.

Do your homework and ask careful, probing, questions

And how did you come to those conclusions was it purely visual or the way they had been installed

Furts wether i know my onions or not all i asked was how YOU came to your opinion because once again you give a sweeping remark without giving a reason and once again the people reading your post are non the wiser for you giving your knowledge because you give no reason for those remarks . I have based my judgement on 27 years of installing such products with a company name which has traded continuosly
