Bypass Loft Tank

I have a combi boiler but still have a cold water tank in the loft which feeds the toilet and the cold water to the bath and hand basin - all downstairs.
Could the loft tank be bypassed? if so, would this be a big job and how would it be done?

Yes it's a straight forward job, the cold main feeding the roof tank is connected to the exit pipe(s) leaving the roof tank, now whether the ballvalve in your WC will require a part changing or replacing & if your taps are suitable for mains pressure is another question

Is there any reason you want to change the set up?

Are there any disadvantages to the current set up that changing to all direct mains would resolve? Slow bath fill or unbalanced hot and cold if you use a shower attachment for example.

It might be useful to have a stored supply of water should the mains supply ever be temporarily cut off.

There is an old adage that might apply:

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
