BG Boiler cover vs Homeserve

Currently we have BG boiler and CH cover for our house (we had to call them 3x this year).

On renewal its £21pm for new cover with BG, or £31 with electrics and water pipes added.

Whereas, Homeserve level 8 cover charge £30 pm for boiler, CH, water systems and electrics.

Anyone have any good experiences of Homeserve? as there cover sounds good.

I'd stick with BG if i were you :)
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

We have used Homeserve and cannot complain. We have used the plumbing and drainage cover twice - once to fix a stop-tap that had a slow leak and another time to replace a connector for a washing machine. I think it's pretty much the same between them in my experience.
  • We had homeserve and our thermostat stopped talking to the boiler (and thus we had no heating) and HS wouldn't cover it. We had the same problem with BG and they did cover it - I would definitely stick with BG

    Thanks for feedback.

I checked with HS and they said controls incl thermostat is included. But a good one to check.

Avoid Homeserve, really not impressed with their service.

Swap and take advantage of quidco cash back and "new customer" discounted premium for a year, will make it a lot cheaper than £31/month. Then switch again next year, possibly back to BG.

We used Homeserve once last year, they came straight out and fixed the problem without quibbling, even though it was due to sludge or limescale blocking the boiler heat exchanger.
