  • Whilst i was busy getting ready for work, my 2 yr old was busy squirting foundation cream all over my carpet.

Ive cleaned it with vanish which has made the stains look light brown, but they are still noticeable.

Any tips would be appreciated, as my partner is moaning saying im wrecking our house as mummy has taken the blame for it!
  • I managed to get a load of foundation over my beige carpet. I have tried to get it up by vanishing/make up remover pads and vaxing.... with no joy...

Someone please help me as I can't afford another carpet and its only 2 years old. By the way it was quite a lot of foundation...... :o

  • Hi

Don't know if a solution of borax would help. They now sell it in Tesco's and works very well on clothes.
  • Hi Kitty,

the best stain remover I've found is called De-Solv-It. I've found it in tesco and sainsburys. It removed lipstick from my stair carpet after one of my angels thought she'd brighten up the carpet for me!

I'd had it professionally cleaned....the chap telling me that he didn't think I'd ever get lipstick out...... well, he didn't, but that stuff did.

It also cleared blood from my little one's mattress after a really heavy nose-bleed. :j

    Good Luck!

As the carpet is only two years old, is it worth claiming on the insurance to replace it if all else fails?

it depends what your excess is on your policy
  • thanks for all your replys I will try the De-solve and let you know the result! I would rather get it out myself than use the insurance but if I can't I will go down that route.

    Hi mumzy,

There's an earlier thread with lots of advice that may help so I've added your post to it.

If you look through this thread you might get some ideas too:carpet cleaning

I hope you get it sorted soon.
