John Lewis AIO computer

First post and not sure if in the right place. I ordered an AIO from John Lewis a couple of weeks ago and it was delivered today from their external supplier. It is a much cheaper spec that has been delivered. They have said that this is due to a marketing issue and are looking into it. Does anyone know what my rights are. Do they have to supply the spec that I purchased? I thought it was a "too good to be true" bargain.

Yes, if they haven't delivered the item you ordered then send it back!

I'd send it back but I'd also complain about the lack of communication, I don't think it's acceptable for them to send a reduced spec item and expect you to notice, especially with a computer where the differences may not be visible to the naked eye.

Request a return with full refund. Ask them to pay for return delivery as the item is not as described.

Or negotiate for a price, do a part refund and you keep the AIO?

BTW, what is the specification of the AIO your ordered and what did you receive?
I am not a great fans of AIO...

Same. Tend to be underpowered with obsolete hardware, and often can't be upgraded.
  • It was a great offer for an intel core i5, touch screen monitor and wireless keyboard and mouse. I was sent same AIO but with intel Pentium, normal monitor and wired keyboard and mouse

Who did you phone, the external supplier or JL? If it's JL that are looking into it, just tell them that you returning the item until they have sorted it out. From experience they are pretty good at sorting out snags, so, I'd get back on the phone asap and ask what they've sorted and get the laptop sent back.
