I don't think it's a wind up but i also don't think the OP has helped themselves. There are several options for returning stuff to ASOS, not just Hermes collections. I work long hours and am on my own with 2 kids and no family nearby, but there are ways to arrange things if you really try. I wouldn't have wasted time arguing with Hermes/ASOS, i appreciate the OP wanted to use this service but when it didn't work, i would have tried another avenue. Hermes poor customer service is well documented (never had a problem with them myself) Unless the OP's partner works 24/7 there would have been another way.
