yMorning, (((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Snoozer, I hope you do manage away for the holiday what a generous gesture if you do not manage it.
Gas people are here again, they are installing the heating in the two remaining bungalows in the street, at least its not freezing today.
OH has an appointment to get his blood checked, he is on the new medication for blood thinning. Whilst we are there we will try to get in to see my ex. Apparently his big toe has gone black but his leg had gone down it looks like he has cellulitis. DD2 was a bit upset last night when she phoned, I think she though he was going to loose his leg.
Bright morning but dampish. We have friends coming for a cuppa this afternoon. I was going to make shortbread, but I have found that if I am out in the mornings shopping, I am fit for nothing in the afternoon, so I bought a box of posh biscuits.
Saw the Dr. I am on Ramapril, so now have 8 tablets to take each night, deffo rattle if shaken. I have to get a blood test in 3 weeks and then go back to see them, they want to increase the dose up to the maximum 10mg. just now I am taking 2.5mg.0 -
Good morning everyone,
Didn't have a very good nights sleep last night but up and at 'em anyway. I finished reading my book called "Why we get fat and what to do about it". Very scientific at times however I'll save you reading it, the answer: carbohydrates. It seems if you reduce these you'll be just fine. I think I'll give it a go in the new year once all the mince pies have gone.
Tonight I've got football and that's about it, nothing too exciting.
nmlc - excellent work on the shopping yesterday
camelot - "phew" is all I can say in regards to your bag. What a panic you must've been in.
Gers - must be fantastic to have such local and fresh meat, enjoy.
Lainey - enjoy your day with your DM. Sending hugs.
LWW - sorry to hear your sad news, my sincere condolences.
Jackie - hope you feel better soon. Mind you, you can't beat a nice mug of Bovril.0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
First of all condolences to LWW, sorry you have to go through this just before Christmas x
Fingers crossed for Mr TA, hope his operation goes well and he soon recovers x
Hugs and sympathy to JackieO, a bad cold can really knock you for six, hope you get well soon x
Sending hugs to everyone else who would like one too xxxxx
It's a bright and mild morning here, I managed to stay in bed this morning until the girls went to school. I have now had a shower and got dressed so I feel almost human. I had a busy day yesterday with my friend. She arrived at 9.30 and left at 4.30 so it was a very long day for me. In between, another friend came with her daughter to see me as well. The kettle was on all day!
My lovely CMHT lady is coming to see me again today as I am not too great at the moment, mostly due to lack of sleep for worrying about my girls. I definitely do not want to go out so just a quick chat will be nice.
I have leftover chicken so will be making a pie ready for tea tonight. I normally make a chicken and leek pie but tonight I fancy chicken in gravy so will knock one of them up in a minute.
The house is looking very messy again which is depressing in itself. I will tidy up the living room but the rest will have to wait until later. I am finding it hard to feel the Christmas spirit this year, probably because my girls are all but grown up now and are not excited really by it all.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
I have completely lost my appetite and have just been drinking bovril and water as anything elses just doesn't appeal at all.
Had to take dh to Halifax this morning for the 7am London train. Our sat nav (Google maps on my phone) is normally great but it doesn't seem to be able to cope with Halifax at all. This morning it took me all round the houses and into the Nestle factory! Old fashioned common sense found the train station in time.
Waiting in for some light fittings to be delivered and will try to make some mince pies for the freezer and a James Martin piccalilli out of a book from the library. We will be 10 for Christmas for a week so advance food prep is definitely in order.
Condolences to LWW and hugs to anyone else who is feeling rotten for whatever reason.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

LWW so sorry about your FIL hugs to you all xx
Jackie the cold doing the rounds is a shocker please rest and take it easy, I still have a runny nose and tickly cough three weeks on xx
Dentist was ok yesterday but I have to see the hygienist in January as she thinks my teeth dont need filling but a deep clean !
Out to meet my old boss for lunch today in a local pub another couple of girls from work will be there too, I am really looking forward to seeing her, we are meeting Saturday evening too but that will be a more boozy affair !
Need to have a clean round downstairs and put a wash on, the rest can wait till later in the week.
Have good days all xx0 -
Hair cut done. Now I feel less monster like. I asked the hairdresser why my hair was going fluffy at the ends, he said it needs conditioner. I've never used conditioner at all, must be another sign of ageing! Bought some conditioner.
I posted a couple of cards this morning at the sorting office, on the way home I suddenly realised that I'd posted another card which was meant to be hand delivered so no stamp or address. I turned the car round and went back to the sorting office, the kind chappie opened the box and retrieved the card for me. :T He said that the card would have reached the recipient without the address but they would have been charged £2.00. Not sure that would have gone down well at all.
Early this morning I went online and bought a chest freezer for the small barn. It's coming on Wednesday. Now I just hope that my friends are happy for my box of lamb to stay in one of their freezers until Thursday. And I'll have to spend some time at the weekend clearing out the junk in the barn to make space for it. I'll need to have a new socket put in eventually but will use an extension lead until the New Year.
It's all go here, just when I want to sit and hibernate.
JackieO - hope you feel better soon. Rest up and keep the fluids going in.
Breakfast is a bacon and egg roll from the local garage. Sorry!0 -
Morning everyone
Nipping in to say thank you for my birthday wishes on Monday. As it was a zero ending birthday I had been away with the girls for the weekend at beginning of December and had a lovely weekend after with my adult children. Monday itself was a bit of a let down, Dh bought a card Sunday & left it unwritten on the dining table till Monday. No present & decided to take me to the local pub in the evening. This is the man that booked his team Christmas party for today in London. Just felt like he didn't make much effort for me but could for his work people. A box of chocolates would have done. Anyway enough of my moaning.
OS lately not much apart from usual chores.
Tru - love the carols.
LWW - thinking of you and your family on the sad loss of your fil.
TA - hope all goes well for Mr TA.
Lainey - thinking of you and your DM, hope she feels up to going to the garden centre.
Hugs and get well wishes to all the people suffering with nasty colds.
Take care0 -
Hi all; GWS wishes for all who are poorly - so many bugs and germs about at the moment! (((HUGS))) for all who need one, and special fingers crossed hopes for Bowie.Went to bed with s headache and it's still there, not helped by DH flinging his arm out during the night and bopping me in the face! Lord only knows what he was dreaming about.
The annoying thing is, he can never remember his dreams afterwards; whereas I remember mine in horrible detail.
I was due a meet'n'greet visit from a new dog this afternoon, but he's not coming now - he's a rescue dog, rehomed when his former owner was in an accident that left him in a wheelchair; he saw a mobility scooter while out on his walk this morning, and was very distressed (I reckon it brought back the trauma) so there's no way he can come to me. It's a shame, but I concur, I wouldn't want to put him through that.
The meet'n'greet visit this evening is still on though, as far as I'm aware; I'm really nervous, as I don't enjoy meeting new people (the dogs are fine, it's just the people) but it has to be done.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
