Paying via Bank Transfer after delivery on Gumtree?
Comments
-
Paying after goods is delivered, and using Gumtree for non face to face transaction is unusual. Possibly, it is just an inexperienced or naive seller.
Alternatively, it is possible he is using stolen credit cards, to order goods online, that are then delivered to your address.
Either way, there doesn't seem much risk as your paying afterwards.0 -
You're probably right.
Good thing I never bought the item as he didn't get back to me once I asked him for a bit of info, but I just got an email from gumtree saying that the seller that I had contact with is being investigated and his items/account has been removed due to suspicious activity.
@Glentoran99 I read somewhere here that with bank and address details people could open up direct debits, contracts, etc. But if my sort/account details don't show then I shouldn't have been worried. I was just being paranoid I guess
