Hi all - I'm back. Made a great dent in my debt for 2015. Can't remember the exact amount I had this time 2 years back, but it was around he 20k mark I think. Really went at it and took loads off, but 2016 was a bit of a bad one - fell off the wagon and I'm annoyed with myself. Anyway, have been chipping away towards the back end of last year and have brought things down to reasonable amounts again. Just opened a Virgin CC account for the 0% balance T/F off by barclaycard - checked and they charged me £67 interest last month. Screw that.
Anyway, signature line sums it all up really. Once end of financial year hits end of March I should have cleared a couple of grand off the student loan amount. I'll have the outstanding barclaycard balance cleared hopefully within the next 4 - 6 weeks, the bank of scotland card is ticking away on 0% at £100 a month, so that will be done by summer and then it is chucking everything I can at the Virgin card to finally be rid of it all after years and years of trying. I am 100% behind this now. Got a few expenses such as car insurance coming up, but otherwise it's heads down.
The other incentive is that I turn 40 this time next year, so I want to be free of all this debt by then - that'll be the best birthday present ever I reckon. In the interests of honesty, I should state that I have a couple of other loans for a motorbike and a car, but I am not including these for this year as they are set and just ticking away. They come out of my other business account and are used within that business, so I don't really see them as a debt - sounds silly maybe as they are, but they are accounted for and planned if that makes sense? If I go well this year, the motorbike is only a couple of grand so that may become a bonus target.
Anyway, can I have a number please!?0 -
