Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2017

Hi everyone!
No 78 paying £50 so have repayed £9250 from the £10000. Just £750 to go and it's going soooo slow!!!!!
We are at the pain barrier, we are able to meet our bills, and the unexpected things that have cropped up. Just really really struggling to get that extra bit of cash together to pay a bit extra. Most family birthdays are at the start of the year, so no more until August !!!
Just had a root around to see if can find anything to sell on eBay, can only find bits and pieces.
Need to keep going, and we will get there!!!!!mortgage free wannabe outstanding Now £26,000 2019 £40,000 2018 £46,900 2012 £109,000 Survey 2017 £355 2018 £438 2019 £412.91 2020 £260.43 2021 £308.89. 2022 £383.700 -
Hi
Total newbie to both the MSE forums and this thread.
I desperately want to be debt free. I'm annoyed that between my husband and I we bring in over £3 a month and we are still left with nothing
So I'm on a mission.
I know we may not be completely debt free by Xmas 2017 but we're going to make a huge go of it.
Going to concentrate on our 2 credit cards, 2 overdrafts, a buy now pay later scheme for a new washing machine and a high interest hitachi finance deal for a boiler we got almost 5 years ago.
I've calculated that the total for all that is £8282 (this includes the interest on the Hitachi finance)
Luckily the credit cards are interest free for the next 2 years.
The hitachi finance is the worst. I've kinda just let that one go paying the £72 a month etc. It's due to finish Dec 2020. I've just been on the Hitachi account and by merely paying an extra £18 a month the loan would be paid off in Jan 2020!!!! Ugh, why have I not concentrated my efforts on getting rid of this one sooner .
I think I'll pay minimum on my interest free credit cards and any spare will go to the Hitachi finance deal,
We do have some good habits - we over pay our mortgage by around £120 a month.
Been overpaying now for approximately 5 years.
Look forward to providing my updates every month and seeing the total going downMy LBM May 2017, DH LBM July 2017- Total Debt (not Including Mortgage) £46444.23 £40773.61 /£46444.23 87.8% paid0 -

Been MIA for a while and thought it about time I returned and updated.

So that is me with the exception of the mortgage now debt free. :j:beer:
I am happy, all money is now mine and not going to anyone else. Just need to save to get the mortgage down as quickly as possible and get the work done to the house.
Many thanks for the last couple of years doing this challenge, it has really helped me focus.

Hello and welcome:T
There's loads of things I could kick myself for about money. We have all done something, that in the wonder of hindsight, we wish we hadn't
The important thing is that your tackling it. The forums have taught me loads about money and generally better living. I've found that they are non judgemental and others want to support and share information and experiences.
Look forward to hearing how you get on. We all seem to have ups and downs and the nature of life is that things go wrong (usually cars :rotfl:)
