If my Dual Fuel fix finishes in Feb, when should I be looking to switch?

Got a Dual Fuel collective fix with British Gas until 28 February 2017, cheap energy club says it's still the best deal out there for me. On what date should i switch so i'm making the most of this deal, but also not going on to a standard deal after (which would be about £40 more a month, and which there is clearly better deals)

Thanks

You can switch without penalty 42 days before the end of your switch (17th January) or earlier if you receive end of contract confirmation from BG. The supplier is required to notify you 49 to 42 days before your contract end. Most suppliers will leave you on their fixed tariff provided they are notified by your new supplier of the switch before your contract finishes.

thanks! also my account is currently £342 in credit, do you think I should claim some of it back? Or is it feasible I could use THAT much over the next couple of months?!

Give BG an actual meter reading and then see how much credit you have in the BG Bank. Give CS a call and discuss how much to leave to achieve a zero balance at the end of February. Bear in mind, you will pay DDs in Dec, Jan and Feb so factor this in.
