NHBC claim

Does anyone know what the cover limit for the NHBC is on a house nearly 5 years old. Cutting a long story short. We have an issue with the roof that needs fixing. The NHBC have said that if the claim is below 1200 then I will have to pay for it. Anything over they will pay for. My only concern is that they will just say it will cost £1000 so you have to sort it. Does anyone know what the amounts are for over the years for the minimum amount. I can't see it on any paperwork. Also if they say it will be £1000 but a roofer said it will be more than the amount where do I stand ?

NHBC don't do excesses, just minimum claims (ie if your claim is over the minimum they pay for the whole job and don't deduct any excess)dexterwolf wrote: »The NHBC have said that if the claim is below 1200 then I will have to pay for it. Check your paperwork to see what your minimum claim amount is. (It sounds like £1200 from your OP)0 -

Yeah it is but what happens if they say it is £1000. And various roofers say that it is over the amount?. Is there anyway to appeal or say I have had 3 quotes and they come to more than you have said in your quote ?0 -
Who gave you the £1000 quote?
Why don't you want them to do the job?0
