I have just rung home and the old thermostat is honeywell.
So I guess what I have been calling the 3 way valve controller is the thermostat receiver. It also make sense that when I press the override button on it the heating comes on. Now I just need to workout how to bypass it. while turning the old thermostat up max is a good test I don't really want it to stop working again when the batteries run out and I have forgotten about the extra thermostat.0 -
You need to check the wiring diagrams and work out where the bits are in the house.

if you look at the wiring diagrams on page 39
Fully Pumped System using 3 Port Mid-Position
Valve
that should be close to what you have,
There can be other plates to connect all the wires up.0 -
There are two parts to your new setup, the square box is the receiver & the other one is a programmable room stat, have you made sure the two are synced together ?
Your old QE2 wasn't wireless it was hard wiredI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
