Thanks for all your help, I did contact the 2 buyers to advise that they had paid via echeque one has been very good the other hasn`t responsed, I have wrapped the items ready to go, I checked on the off chance at 1645 & guess what.... yes they are clear so I went straight to the post office posted them, & I have let the buyers know.
Thanks again for all your help.

I'm getting sick of Paypal at the moment, everything I buy is getting paid for by echeque despite having more than enough in my bank account to cover the cost of the item.
I've emailed Paypal twice as to why this is happening but still haven't received a response.
I've emailed the sellers and apologised profusely about the delay in them receiving payment and they seem to be ok about it. But as I had a few days off, I was hoping that one of the items would get to me in time so I could use it.
I just wish there was an alternative to Paypal, other than postal orders.0 -
I have a similar situation to it now seems like a lot of people. I have sold something which is being paid by 'echeque' , I have kept in communication with the buyer and they understand the situation but did email yesterday to say that they bought something else after my item, paid by paypal and it has already cleared. On the other side of things I have bought something which is showing as uncleared in my paypal account so I assum the seller of my item is waiting for an echeque.
Its quite annoying as I have just under £100 in my paypal account and normally if there isnt anything it is paid straight by direct debit or whatever from my bank account.
Does anyone know the reason for echeque payments being generated rather than an instant payment as I havent done anything different with my payment,
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I like the whole idea of paying with paypal and the payment being immediate.

Payments will go as an echeque when your credit or debit card kept on file has expired. Paypal do not send reminders out they just take the money from your bank account but this takes 10 - 14 days and they call it an echeque. If you have a cash ballance in your paypal account this will be used first but any amount over this will come from your bank and the whole payment will go as an echeque.0

From a buyers perspective ive had a problem using echeque, which is the only funding option open to me at the moment.
Paid for an item within 24 hours of auction finishing by paypal echeque - seller specified paypal.
A week later the seller asks when he can expect to receive payment as Paypal told him it would be 4 days after payment made. I advised that the funds had left my account that week and that paypal were keeping hold of them and told him the expected clearance date which was 48 hours later.
The seller promptly refunded the payment saying that it was taking too long and he was going on holiday. I explained that it would take several days to receive the money back into my paypal account (took a week) and wouldnt be able to resend funds until then, he said it wasnt good enough.
He's now opened up an unpaid item dispute on ebay. He's agreed that it was paypal taking too long to process the payment and left it at that, so im at a loss!
I dont bother buying off ebay now unless I already have the funds in my paypal account, which is a shame as ive often used echeques in the past without a problem but paypal do seem to be taking longer and longer to process the payments and its me thats getting the blame!
Personally I used to wait until an echeque has cleared before sending but these days, if the buyer has decent feedback im likely to post it straight away.0 -
I also accept cheques and if the buyer has good feedback I send the goods out straight away. I prefer a cheque to an echeque any day!0

Whenever customers want to pay by PayPal eCheque I advise them that it may take 10 - 14 days to clear. Or they can pay direct into my bank account by online banking and it'll take 1 - 3 business days..."Money is truthful. If a person speaks of their honour, make sure they pay in cash."0
