Major service: Kwikfit vs Vauxhall vs Halford vs ???

Looking to do my first major service on a 2008 Vauxhall Corsa with 41000 miles on the counter. I know that a few of you would suggest doing it by myself but this is not a prospect I am considering. Amongst the main providers in the market, is it simply a matter of comparing what they offer? Thanks for your help.

Got only servicestop and vauxhall's own MOT left. Arnold Clark is too far from me. Links are a man's best friends.com0

Ask people you know who they trust. A local garage is likely to do a proper job. The big chains are notorious for getting even simple things wrong.0

Who can fix my car and servicingstop have less than impressive reviews
Might ask my neighbours then I guess.

ANY garage can service an 8yo Corsa.
I wouldn't go near any national as-seen-on-tv chain if you paid me.
A main dealer's great in warranty, but they won't think laterally if there's the slightest problem - they'll just chuck expensive original parts at it, and charge you a massive premium on the labour, too.
Ask your friends, neighbours, colleagues, local FB groups about good local garages. The good ones will be busy by word-of-mouth.0 -
Don't use servicingstop in fact if you have the inclination, search this forum for Servicingstop and read the threads. No one has a good word to say about them. As above ask around for a good independent garage.0

just use a local, long established, grubby back street kind of place operated for years by the same family.0

Go for a major service at Kwikfit and you'll be lucky to escape without forking out for new brake discs and pads all round.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

If i went to buy a car and they had Halfords or Kwikfit stamps for servicing i would run away.
If looking for someone else i would say not to or tell them knock the price down for that reason.
Service stop... oh dear.. would you really hand over your keys to an unkown person who could be from the garage that may not get customers from word of mouth or passing trade due to being so poor?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Don't assume the franchised dealer will bee to expensive - when I had a Vauxhall I shopped around and was suprised to find the local main dealer was cheapest.0

Kwik Fit is different though. I'd avoid them like the plague.0
