Proposed Variation & Deed of Assignment

Options
Hi,

Looking for a bit of advice, I have three payments left of my IVA however I received a letter from Debt Free Direct asking me to agree/disagree to a proposed variation and also sign a Deed of Assignment in relation to PPI's. I really don't understand the terminology they are using.

Do I agree to these and sign as I don't want to delay completion?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Do you have any PPI ?

It's a standard form they send out, in order to end your IVA on time, if there is a subsiquent claim for PPI it has to be paid to your creditors.

There was some court case in regard to the legalities of this, but I am yet to hear of an outcome.

If there isn't any PPI you know about, sign it anyway, if you don't your certificate of completion will be delayed until they have completed any claims, and that can take years.

  • Just finishing my IVA with Debt Free Direct too so ill look out for mine in the post!

Quick point of note, I found that the communication from DFD has been horrific! Weve requested statements, written confirmations, etc and receive nothing other than an annual Chairmans Report! (and always in gobbledy-gook)
There almost impossible to get hold of, and even when weve provided them with all of our details they ALWAYS fail to contact us.

I can honestly say that there ability to stop the constant hounding and pressure is fantastic, but there communication to the client is abysmal. Our 'case manager' is literally just a name on a bit of paper!

Anyway, congrats on the completion. I fully empathise with the struggle youve been through. Just press on for that certificate!
