Threatened by Lidl's staff,

What exactly led to the threatening behaviour and what exactly was the threat?
I'm assuming they didn't just walk up to you from nowhere and start threatening violence, something must have started the interaction, maybe you asked an innocent question or maybe you rammed into them with a trolley.
It is also possible that they felt threatened by you first so used a threatening manner in response.
A customer once complained that she felt threatened by a colleague of mine, he uses his hands a lot when he talks but the were never raised above waist level and never moved in a threatening way. She said she felt that he was raising his hands to hit her. After kicking up a fuss and her getting threatening a manager offered her £10 her sale as a gesture of good will, even though he knew she was in the wrong he just wanted rid of her.
She smirked as she was getting her discount and told another colleague that she never pays full price for things and said you've just got to know how to work the system and winked as she walked out.
Situations like that are getting more common so it is understandable that one persons word against another's especially if it against a long standing and good employee is taken with a pinch of salt.0 -
Did they say "for the love of god please stop saying 'liddles' or I may have to slap you?"0

Well, a previous thread saw OP make a "verbal complaint" to McDonalds over a parking charge they incurred (a third party, not McDonalds, invoiced OP!) for spending 1hour 15 minutes to eat their McDonalds meal when they could only stay there for up to 1hour...

I have to say but I'd love to hear the argument which was presented to the McDonalds staff over that one! :rotfl:0 -
I was threatened by a staff member in Lidl's. I raised a complaint 2 weeks ago. I have been fobbed off, fobbed off, and fobbed off again. Promised phone calls and email, none of which are forthcoming.
I am so frustrated now. I am a long term customer, and now afraid to return to the store. Customer Services are obviously not taking it seriously.
I have no idea what to do? Any suggestions? I could try emailing the CEO, but I suspect he'll ignore me also.
You paid Lidl staff to threaten you and now you are complaining about it..?
Because that's what your posting here says to me! The PVW forum would be much more appropriate.
However, if you think you have a valid complaint that does not involve a bit of transactional abuse, wht not email the CEO of Lidl directly - christian.haertnagel@lidl.co.uk
On another board here, his office actually has a pretty good record for resolving complaints positively.0 -
I have no idea what to do? Any suggestions?
Move on and shop at asda,tesco,morrison's,co-op,or really get up their nose and shop at aldi.0 -
Does no one else suspect that the details of this "threatening" behaviour would turn out to be just a storm in a teacup if they were to be revealed?
The fact that no details have been forthcoming from the OP would seem to bear this hypothesis out.
It concerns me that such serious, but likely groundless, allegations can so easily be made against shop staff...0 -
Intimidation and threatening behaviour. I haven't reported it to the Police as I was hoping Lidl's would act, and I also suspected that the Police wouldn't be able to do anything without independent witnesses.
From Lidl's; I would like them to take my complaint seriously. I would like some sort of assurance from Lidl that I can walk into their store again, without being intimidated by this particular staff member.
However I am now fuming that since being threatened I have wasted about an hour and a half on the phone at various times, promised phone calls and emails that have never happened.
Who said what? Why haven't you written this.
Were you actually threatened or did they simply say something you didn't like/didn't want to be told (which I'm hedging my bets on)?
If what you say is true then it would be a public order offence and you should involve the police. I very much doubt it's as serious as you're trying to make out seeing you say you were threatened, haven't contacted the police but instead have written a letter of complaint!0 -
Any complaint to Lidl's is taken seriously, it would have been investigated or is still on going.
Management are not stupid however, a very small minority of customers are notoriously difficult and very devious who hold grudges if they don't get their way. The employee has a different side to the story and we will never know the real truth.
The only downside is for the employee, innocent or not it's now on his record.0 -
I've sent you some money in the post to cover a course in Karate. You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.
