Whats the best free computer DVD player software (only DVD player - I got told off for asking for any more!)?

VLC Player can play DVDs, and a very wide variety of other audio/video file formats. The codecs are all built-in to the player, and I've yet to find a file it can't play:

Thanks for the suggestions, don't mean to be awkward, but i am running Windows ME and VLC Media Player won't play DVD's on ME (known problem) and AVS doesn't support ME.

Any others?

MediaPlayer Classic might be what you want. It's free and has a Windows Millenium version:

Look for the "mpc98me6490.zip" file.

I agree with VLC player being an awesome video player.

However I didnt know that it cant play DVD's and it has on occasion not played video files for me. Although I forget the type of files.
