If you just want to share big files and you are firmly non-techie, you can upload a file at yousendit.com - just put in the recipient's email address, upload the file (by browsing to where it is on your computer) and then send. They email the person (or people) and keep the file on their server for 7 days. It's free and the size is up to 1GB.
