How much to carpet a bedroom?

Yes may be a impossible answer but its not a huge bedroom, its a bedroom in a council flat.

The other rooms are carpeted, and I have some scraps of carpet from old place they left when putting new carpet in that I can put together like a jigsaw (though will look rough)

As its one small room is it generally expensive?.

£5/m2 carpet, £6/m2 underlay, £10 gripper rods, and all you need otherwise is a hammer and Stanley knife.

Carpet shops often Dell offcuts or ends of roll quite cheaply.

If it is a small room you could be able to go somewhere that sells off-cuts and get a decent deal on that, you would need underlay and gripper rods etc. if you could fit it yourself that would save you money if not the fitting is likely to be the most expensive part (most fitters will charge by the room size, but there will almost certainly be a minimum charge for small rooms)

Second-hand carpet tiles are often a very economical way to carpet a small area and most people are capable of setting them out accurately.

A good going over with the hoover and no carpet fitter to pay...

I carpeted my daughter's bedroom for £0. Second hand carpet, there was a little damage at the edges but the room it was going into was a lot smaller so could cut that section off, the grippers were in place from her old threadbare carpet. Have look on freecycle for the carpet, my friend who is a carpet fitter is inundated with work now as everyone seems to want new carpet fitted before Xmas. If you can get a free carpet and underlay then just the grippers to buy. I am assuming that the bedroom won't get a lot of use and need heavy duty carpet.

Without a size it is impossible to say.

I just bought 2 rolls of 11mm underlay for £80 - 3 packs of grippers for £14 and 2 rolls of off cut/end of roll carpet for £250 delivered - already had a carpet fitting kit and fitted it all myself.

So total outlay was £344 and carpeted 2 rooms.
