I'm currently living with a friend and I want to rent my own place. I'm worrying how I'll do all the things that are normal when renting:-
Copy of utility bills for id (none are in my name)
References (I have no formal tenancy agreement)
Also I see if I pay up front that I need to provide proof of the source of wealth. I can imagine it being a pain in the !!!! as I"ve moved savings around all the time going back decades, how can you really say show that?

No you don't. If you offer to pay 6 months up front and if they want to know where the money is coming from tell them it's from your savings.
It's only really worth doing if you're self employed though. I tried offering 6 months up front in the past to show I was good for the money and the greedy landlord decided he wanted 12 months because he knew I had it in the bank. I told him to stick it.0 -
Many LLs wont accept rent up front as there's risks involved in people setting up drugs farms or brothels0
