Travel Insurance - question..

I am trying to select a travel insurance policy but cannot decide on the value of cover for cancellation. Policies are ranging from £1k to £6k cover for cancellation but I cannot find out if that is per person covered on the policy or per policy. I'd like my holiday cost of £5500 covered but not sure about whether that's an entire policy cover or an individual cover i.e. 4 people on the policy covered at £6k each would be too much cover but one policy of £6k per family would be sufficient.

Can anyone help me out please? I'm sure this is such a simple question that the answer to has bypassed me some how!

Many thanks.

The limit shown is normally per person.

For a holiday of that value, I strongly recommend you don't buy on price alone but look at overall cover.

Is this a cruise by any chance?
  • Hi Dacouch. This is for a USA trip over Christmas (although cruise cover is my to do list early next year!)

I have been looking at the overall cover but for some reason it was the cancellation cover that made me think about exactly what I was purchasing. Thanks very much, I have a way forward. :-)

I just noticed your username, I'm glad it's not a cruise.

If possible, try and ensure the entire party arrange cover with the same Insurer
