The largest proportion of that, if that is the total budget, would go on labour and then you'll have the cheapest of everything else on the list.
Perhaps better to do the painting yourselves and have nicer items.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Is this an apartment your going to live in, could you do the painting yourself or a room at a time ?
Do you really need blinds, could you do with curtains ?
Depends if you want a cheap dryer, sofa and mattress.0 -
Your question is posed so as to beg a 'yes' or 'no' answer.FIRSTTIMER wrote: »Get someone in to repaint whole apartment

So......no.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0 -
Repaint whole apartment could be £500 or £5000.... we've no idea how big it is or spec required
Carpet two rooms could be £500 materials and £100 labour, but we don't know as too little info.
Blinds...could be £200 or £1000... we've no idea as you've given us no useful info.
Dryer, say £200.
Sofa, say £700.
Mattress, between £100-£1000.
You see my point?0 -
Depends on the size of your flat! And the size of the windows for the blinds and rooms to be carpeted. And the kind of sofa and mattress you want. But on the whole I'd say no.0

As many people have said it depend on the quality you want you could do some of the work yourself and get some items second hand, if you have some stuff already that is not ideal could you make do with it a while longer?
I would look at the items that you want and work out how much everything will cost, if it is over your budget figure out which are priorities which you are willing to compromise on an which you aren't.
Once you have the prices if there is something that you can't afford look to see if you can get something really cheap from gumtree or freecycle or something rather than buying something new that you don't really want because it matches your budget, keep the extra money and upgrade when you can afford to.0 -
Look on youtube on tips on how to paint yourself. Cheaper and you can choose good quality paints.

Buy a new mattress - £150 - £1500 depending on size, construction, quality etcFIRSTTIMER wrote: »Get someone in to repaint whole apartment Why? You obviously want to keep to a tight budget so paint it yourself. It's not rocket science.
Carpet 2 rooms depends hugely on the size of rooms and quality of carpet. Do you want the carpets to last 12 months or 12 years?
Blinds on 4 Windows £50 from local street market. £500 from fancy department store
Dryer Free from freecycle. £30 from charity warehouse that sells 2nd hand electricals. £200 - £2000 from retailer
Sofa see drier
Mattress0 -
It'll help if you know people who can do this.FIRSTTIMER wrote: »Get someone in to repaint whole apartment

I paid £320 to carpet two rooms (decent bedroom carpet, good underlay)
I paid £320 to have two rooms painted (done well - holes and cracks filled, woodwork sanded and painted, walls sanded and painted, ceilings painted) plus materials. Save £320 by doing the work yourself.
Roller blinds are £20 at Dunelm Mill
Sofa - free on Freecycle, cheap on a local Facebook Buy/Sell account, £240 at Argos
Dryer - free on Freecycle, cheap on a local Facebook Buy/Sell account - but watch out for someone offloading one of those dryers that set themselves on fire. You can get a vented dryer for £120 at Argos or a condenser dryer for £180.
Mattress - buy new, expect used mattresses to be grim. £100 at Ikea.0
