I keep telling myself I'll sew more but I need some new scissors. I also have a daughter doing GCSE Textiles who could do with the practice.
I've had a look about and they vary from £5 to £25. My mum always had Fiskars (with the bright orange handles) but I don't know if I can justify the cost.
Any recommendations please?

I have Ikea dressmaking scissors that cost £5 and they are brilliant. I have had expensive ones in the past but these are perfect for dressmaking and quilting. I have recommended these to several of my friends who have also bough hem and happy with them.Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order

I use Fiskars as well. With scissors I'm most worried about quality. Treat them well (no cutting anything but fabric) and they should last forever.
If I was buying now I would probably buy British from one of the long standing manufacturers in Sheffield- not cheap but have a lifetime guarantee

There are other companies based in Sheffield you can look at too.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
My house if full of Fiskars!- all sizes- from manicure to drssmaking shears. Just don't let them get near card or paper because that will really dull the blades.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
