Computer keeping me signed in even when I have logged out

I have a problem on my computer whereby if I log out of here and close down the computer, when I come back later on, I'm stilled signed in?

Something similar happened when I was trying to create a Gmail account, - it wouldn't let me sign out of the account properly, even when I cleared the cache, it still kept me signed in.

I know things work a bit differently on an iMac (I don't get this problem on Windows) so is there something else I need to be clearing as well as the browsing history and the cache?

It's the cookies that you need to be deleting.

Untick the remember me box and delete the username and password stored.
