I never actually thought that could be what the issue is. I know her boyfriends mum is unwell at times.. Thanks0 -
Thanks for all your replies. If I was to find out that unbeknown to me that I was contributing to any type of fraud I would be livid. It's not like she is living on the breadline, the total opposite in fact. I am a tax payer myself and work full time so to be put in this situation where I am not sure what is going on and causing me to worry when I wouldn't even dream of doing this to anyone myself really is ridiculous. I just need to get to the bottom of it and I don't agree with the fact she is not contributing rent so i think I'll be advising her to do that but I know she does pay towards bills etc. His parents are working but think it's on a part-time basis. Hoping I'm worrying for nothing...0

She will have to change her address with her GP if you move out of his area.0

OP as you are about to move now is a good time to put a stop to her using the address0

Hello everyone,
Well I'm happy to say that nothing untoward is going on thankfully. She said that her and the bf are now actively looking for their own place and she was only using my address as she felt more comfortable about her personal mail being delivered to my address as there had been an incident when something addressed to her had been opened by her bfs mother. Anyhow she knows I am moving in a few weeks time and said she'll happily get her address changed back to the parents until they find their own place. A huge sigh of relief... Thanks everyone for your replies. Now back to planning how to decorate my new house which is currently a building site :rotfl:0 -

She lives with her boyfriends family and for some reason could not use their address for GP, work and most recently she has been claiming disability living allowance.undercover_agent wrote: »she was only using my address as she felt more comfortable about her personal mail being delivered to my address as there had been an incident when something addressed to her had been opened by her bfs mother.
Glad it's sorted out - if the reason was that simple, why didn't she just say so when she asked to use your address?0 -
Well reading between the lines she said she does get on well with the parents but I don't think everything is quite as it seems but maybe she doesn't want to talk about it. The fact they are actively looking a place of their own came out of the blue and I didn't want to pry to much into it until she's ready to talk!0

The sooner the use of your address stops the better, as the parents only working part time could mean that they do this to work minimum hours to get maximum top up to the level of someone working full time. In which case they could lose out for having a resident with good income, who would affect HB and CT benefits.
Perhaps I'm being over suspicious , but I've learned about trust the hard way.0
