Why online rather than solicitor ?

My solicitor charges £90 including a face to face chat for a basic will , includes will storage. The headline price does not include VAT , or secure will storage , both are extras

    will writers are NOT solicitors

Avoid them like the plague! Will writers are unqualified.

I suspect the Op may be Mr Ten Minute Will, and this is an advert for his company.

If so, then it will not have done much good.
Also beware of being unneccesarily induced into appointing the will writing company as the executor. The resulting charges need to be understood.

Not to mention the annual will storage charges and all sorts of other extras.
  • If by Op you mean Original Post - that is me - but I am not connected to the firm.

It is just a simple enquiry to see if anyone had used this firm and hear their experience.

Hi - I'd be interested if anyone has used http://www.willsatwork.com/

My employer offers this as a service that we pay for, it's £420 for a couple and £240 for a singleton. Looks like it's fully arranged and stored, just not sure if it's good value or not? We are allowed to pay for this via salary deduction over 12months, so payment is easy and not having to find the money up-front.

    Thanks...

We had mirror wills done by a good solicitor cheaper than £420.

Phone around and get some quotes.

OK thanks, roughly how much cheaper did you find it? I forgot to mention, the £420/£240 is paid pre-tax, so I'd get tax break on this amount.

Can't remember exactly but it was closer to the £240 than the £420.
