Howdens bathroom units

Hi has anyone purchased one of their bathroom units 600 unit 290 deep. As I am having problems getting a basin and worktop. Although the unit is 600 mm wide once you add the side panels that match the colour of the doors then the unit becomes 640 wide.

Howdens tell me they don't sell basins and I can't find a worktop top top fit, as the unit will be free standing both edges need to be clean cut.

Would be glad to hear how anyone else has worked round this.

You would probably have to buy a semi-recessed basin and a longer worktop and cut it down to fit and re-edge.

Alternatively, for the worktop, you could try going to a local stone fabricator and seeing if you could get something made from an offcut of granite or quartz. This would be more money but may not be as much as you might think.

It'll work out far cheaper to buy a unit from a main stream bathroom supplier, ideal standard, roca etc

It will still look like a kitchen unit however you try to disguise

We often get a piece of granite/ Quartz cut with a basin cut out approx 1200x 400 and have never paid more than a few hundred

As a frequent purchaser from Howdens (8 Kitchens this year), I can guarantee you this: Howdens don't sell bathroom units. They sell kitchen units that they try and sell as bathroom units. As Howdens are to bathrooms as Howard Shipman is to care for the elderly, you would be well advised to buy elsewhere.


Andyhop is right. Get a proper basin unit and basin from a bathroom supplier and you wont have any issues.
