Damage to car whilst in garage (but by another customer)

  • I agree with the last post, they don't have to do anything but given everyone I've discussed it with feels they should have (and these are local people who now also know which garage it is) it seems a strange stance to take.

If they get 10 mirrors knocked off a day, at £200 a piece.........

I wouldn't leave my car with them ;)

    Err
I don't think they are saying they have 300 damaged cars a month!! In fact they may not even see 10 cars per day.

Business is tough, margins are being squeezed, lots of competition. You lot are assuming the garage can even afford to start paying for repairs caused by people not linked to them

Wow! Interesting thread which (as usual) has had it's fair share of obnoxiousness. Plus a lot of 'muddying the waters' has taken place. Seems that quite a lot of moderating has taken place which is good to see.

But back to the topic... i'm going with post #41 which should of shortend the thread by at least 1 and a half pages.

The damage (however caused) should be covered by the garage's motor traders insurance policy. So why we are talking about finding out the other "customers details" is beyond me. The OP wasn't 'in charge' of his vehicle when it was damaged, the garage were. If the "other customer" was at fault then the garage claims against him/her, not the OP.

    Quite simple really.
