Slow to heat oven

I recently moved and the oven is so slow to heat up.
Previously, had a top of the range, fan oven, whereas now, its just a basic, although still fan oven.
Have i been spoilt by my previous oven?:o
It takes 35 minutes to get to 190, is this normal?
The oven fan is greasy and the whole thing was grubby when i moved in (rental) I've cleaned it as best i can but can't get to the fan as its behind a grill.
Any advice please, or is this normal?

I'd say 20 minutes is normal for an unspectacular cheapo oven to get up to about 190-200 .... 35 minutes is abnormal.
Can't help other than to say that.0 -
oven elements vary in wattage (power) from about 1500w to 2500w - the lower the wattage the longer they take to heat the oven to a given temperature. Cheaper ovens would have lower power.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

Just checked the on-line instructions and the wattage is 2600.
It also states that the oven should be heated up, for about ten minutes, prior to placing food in.
Think I'll contact the landlord.

2600 could be the oven + grill elements, does it have 2?Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

There was a similar thread to this a while ago where a poster said they had bought two new ovens that were too slow to heat & were therefore both faulty. They were going to return them but we haven't heard anything since. My advice is the same in this situation, don't fret over the numbers, see how they work, if they take a bit longer than you're used to so be it.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

If it's a convection oven, it may have had the bottom element fail.
Turn the oven on from cold and place your hand on the bottom of the oven, it should heat up pretty quickly.
A bottom element is difficult to replace and may just be better off to replace the whole thing.
Inform your landlord, let them deal with it.0 -
