I phone 5, headphone socket not working.

As per title, new phone, several headphones tried, sound comes out of phone speaker and not headphones.

headphones work fine in other device, it is the phone at fault.0

Have you tried cleaning out the port? Sometimes pocket fluff can get into the port and interfere with the connection.0
