I had 5k in PBs from Jan 99 to Jul 2015 when I started putting more in. During that 198 months I won £1125 in prizes (never more than 25s I think, maybe one 50 or so) which works out at 1.36% per year. Not going to set the world alight but if you have max pension, max isa, unwrapped investments already, all the bank accounts etc, may as well have a punt.

I don't understand the argument of going in because of low savings returns because the bond returns are getting much worse statistically too, they are not an alternative to savings, they are a punt when you have the basics already covered.
