when should i change my car

  • I had a Focus diesel that was on 140k when I sold it on and it was on the original clutch/DMF - I sold it as I needed a bigger car, nothing really wrong with it.

Currently running a CMax diesel with 180k on it, as far as I know it is still on the original clutch/DMF although I bought it with not a lot of history and 125k on the clock so it *might* have already been replaced.

Finally had a Mondeo diesel, that needed a new DMF at 170k, got about 2 weeks warning, it started vibrating and being a PITA to change gear.

Personally I'd keep it, might be fine for another few years.

Very good cars in general, keep it if it works fine.

BUT - you have not said what diesel engine it has: is it 1.6, 1.8 or 2.0? 1.6 is by far the most troublesome (see other threads).
