chaning supplier with E7 meter but on single rate tariff

I have an E7 meter but only use it on a single rate tariff.
Does this mean I can still switch suppliers to be just on a single rate?

Not easily as not all suppliers will accept E7 meters for use on a single tariff.

Some will, some will not and the switching sites will not hold that information. You can still use the switching sites to see what is out there for you but you will have to phone any supplier and ask them.

Alternatively ask your current supplier to change your meter from E7 type to a standard meter. They may charge you for this and you may have some local electrical rewiring to be done by a qualified electrician too.

there are only a small number of suppliers that will agree to bill a customer on a single rate tariff despite them having a multi-rate meter

But you can certainly switch supplier if you wish to.
If you feel you will be wanting a single rate tariff for thge foreseeable future, probably the best way would be to first get your meter changed - then you will have the complete market to choose from

Otherwsie, contact the supplier of your choice directly and explain what you wish to do and see if they will agree

Some smaller suppliers won't be able to support an economy seven meter bundled together as a single rate, and may require a meter exchange or for you to go on their compariable economy seven tariff.

I know that British Gas and Sainsbury's Energy (and most likely at least some of the big six) will happily take the two readings and just add them together and operate the account as a single rate.

Some suppliers ability to do this may change shortly because of a CMA measure that says that customers with Restricted Meters (E10 etc) can switch to a suppliers 24/7 tariff without change of meter.
